Cell Camp

Do
you have a child (or know of a child) with sickle cell disease who would
like to attend camp this summer? Sickle Cell Disease Association
of the Piedmont (SCDAP) sponsors an annual Summer Enrichment
Camp for children ages 6 through 15 with sickle cell disease. The goal
of our camp is to foster the social, emotional, and physical growth
of children with sickle cell disease by providing a variety of fun and
exciting activities.

All of our camp programs are designed to help individuals “be
the best they can be” despite their health condition! Here is
a listing of just some of our offerings:

Camp Safety
SCDAP’s number one priority is the health and
safety of our campers! All of our camp programs meet or exceed standards
set by the American Camping Association for safety and content. Medical
supervision is provided in our modern, well equipped Med-Shed by dedicated
nurses housed on-site 24 hours a day. An on-call physician and a nearby
hospital are available for emergencies, special needs, and consultations.
Leadership is provided by enthusiastic college-aged adults under the
supervision of SCDAP’s camp director. You can enjoy peace of mind
knowing that your child is enjoying a fun and rewarding camp experience
in a safe and healthy atmosphere!
Eligibility Requirements
• North Carolina
residents with sickle cell disease
• Ages 6 to 15
• Completed camper application received
by May 31, 2006
Our camp is limited
to 65 campers on a first come, first served basis---so apply today!
Camp dates are July 30 – August 4, 2006
